“Behind Closed Doors,” a Stage Play That Challenges Male Norms
“Behind Closed Doors” is a stage play that seeks to expose a battle that far too many families experience. It takes the audience through Mike’s journey as he battles with a secret that eventually threatens not only to destroy his marriage, but also to carry over into the next generation.
An original play written and directed by Moise Robert, “Behind Closed Doors” takes you on a family’s personal journey to the pits. The two-act play will be presented at 7:30 pm on February 28th, 2015, at Faith Baptist Church, 22 Faith Ave., Auburn, MA. Admission is FREE.
Behind Closed Doors tells the story of a young, working-class family. Sarah, a stay-at-home mom, has been married to Mike, an insurance agent, for twelve seemingly happy years, the fruit of which is their nine year old son, Junior. With Mike’s new promotion, everything seems to be going well—with the exception of Mike’s increased secrecy and odd behaviors at home. After turning a blind eye to her suspicions for too long, Sarah suddenly confronts the bitter truth: her husband’s ‘dirty little secret’, which threatens to destroy everything they hold dear. Will this family prevail?
